My 3 Best Books in 2021 - Part 1
Because we’re at the end of July 2021, I’d like to share my Top 3 Books list for first half of 2021, that I think it’s really good and would like to recommend it to all of you🥳
So, by this month, I’ve already read 23 books, or around 55% from my target : 42 books. From those 23 entry, I mentally rank them from personal perspective, then finally come up with 3 books, that is representatively good, and worth our reading time. Here are my Top 3 Books Recommendation for 2021 :
🎼 Rapijali by Dee Lestari for Best Indonesia Literature
Rapijali is a story about high school teenager/s, struggling to find their dreams and visualizing it, completed with all around drama about friendship, family, and of course about love! The author is reported to have been keeping this story for 27 years before decided to work on it once more and publish it. Therefore i think it reflects on the plot. We can see that the author slowly build the foundation for all the conflicts, it’s almost like a contractor patiently lay the stone one by one. Even though many find it a little bland for such a famous author, but i was completely satisfied and cannot wait to continue with the sequel :)
🪄 The Miracles of Namiya General Store by Keigo Higashino for Best Fantasy - Mystery
It’s a fiction book, that also fit for so many genres such as fantasy, mystery, realism, slice of life, contemporary, and cultural lol. But if you in general enjoy fantasy and mystery, then this book is for you! It’s about a time travel story that happened in Namiya General store. Here we are asked to also think about all life problems provided in the story and forced to reflect on what actions would we take if those happened to us. For me, it’s mind blowing 🤯

🧕🏽 It’s Not About the Burqa by Mariam Khan for Best Non Fiction - Humanism
If you would like to broadened your perspective, that i really encourage you to, then this book is just right for you! This is a collection of essays that presents their idea and experience on how it is to be a minority muslim woman. I personally learned more about my religion, the muslim culture, and also how and why it’s very different yet very confusing sometimes.
