Horrorland - Will it Scare or Bore You? Box 1
I purchased Goosebumps Horrorland Series in 2019, during Big Bad Wolf book bazaar, one of the biggest in Indonesia that time. It’s kinda chaos but really an exciting event actually. Because I already visited the 2017 and 2018 event, that year I finally decided not to visit. However, i saw so many delivery services, and particularly saw this Goosebumps Horrorland edition. And impulsively purchased it right away 😂
So basically, it took me around 2 years and quarantine period to finish the series lol.. I’m personally not a fan of horror. To be honest, I’ve never even read Stephen King books 🥺 I don’t know, i feel like i’m too terrified to read horror, i’d rather read about serial killer or about murder or something than about psychic supernatural ghost kind..
But I think Goosebumps hold a special place in my memories. My sister was collecting Goosebumps books when we’re little, but the collection is now disappeared since we move home. So, when I saw this series, I immediately reminded by my childhood memories..
So let’s talk about this series in detail. What is it all about?
🎃 So the series I purchased is consisted of 10 books from 19 books in total for Horrorland series (if i’m not mistaken). Every book is around 150 pages, which is divided into 2 parts, first is the main mystery (around 75% in proportion), and the remaining is about Horrorland series. This second part, is continued from the main mystery and will be accumulated with the first part is progressing throughout the series.
It’s the story about children who experienced supernatural things in their life, and then immediately invited to visit Horrorland Theme park as a special guest.They thought to have some fun in the park, until some them gone missing and other mysterious and unexplainable things happen in the park. Is the park dangerous? Can they get home safely? What will happen to them? The answer is all in the Goosebumps Horrorland Series..
What I really like about this series?
🐤 It’s a thin book lol
We can literally finish it around 1 - 1.5 hour. So actually i can easily finish it in 10 days max if I read 1 book/day. But no, it took me 2 years lololol
🎢 Plot twist, Plot twist everywhere..
If you’ve read Goosebumps, you must be familiar with R.L. Stine style, where the author almost everytime decided to put a sick plot twist in the end of every story. This is sometimes gives a very unsettling effect, because our imagination will run wild and make the horror continues even when the book ends. It’s actually a genius strategy lol
What to consider from this series?
🎭 So many characters…
Literally it feels like you have to remind so many characters name. And sometimes when you forgot, you kinda have to open the previous book to make sure. Or if you're like me, you just let it slip and don’t get the 100% effect the author might be set it into 😂
🔮 Personally, not a fan of psychic genre
It’s not that I despise it or anything, it’s just not for me I guess. But hey, if you love it, you continue it, girl!!!! (or boy)

I’m not recommending it strongly. Why?
It surely need a lil bit more effort from you, because you need to buy 19 books to finish this series. For me, i’ll finish my journey on the 10th book only lol

You’re a big fan of Goosebumps, let’s say a collector. Or you’re just can’t let a mystery left hanging unsolved, then you should feed your curiosity!! 💪🏽
